CONGRATULATIONS

Congratulations JPxG on your recent RfA candidacy and subsequent admin rights change. I'm sorry that I missed my opportunity to participate, would have unequivocally supported your bid if I had not, and am glad that the community vetted you fairly in my stead. Best regards and be well. --John Cline (talk) 05:45, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Signpost publishing script error

I just did a publishing script dry-run and got an error: Editing issue page... Failed (API error: TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '0')). Thought you'd want to know. ☆ Bri (talk) 19:50, 13 December 2023 (UTC)

Which script? I forked mine off of Evad37's version and there have been a lot of changes to the publishing flow and the templates etc since then -- my current ver at User:JPxG/SPS.js is workinjg okay I think. Probably some documentation needs to be updated. jp×g🗯️ 19:52, 13 December 2023 (UTC)
Oh okay. I'm still running User:Evad37/SPS.js. Maybe it's permabusted? ☆ Bri (talk) 04:10, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Yeah, I think so. I would recommend switching it out with the fork I've got -- there are some breaking changes in the way templates are laid out, etc. jp×g🗯️ 04:38, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

I also...

love to sew my pants. Making things is a good time. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:36, 14 December 2023 (UTC)

Bad boy

new parser for metadata is going fine except for:

no change for 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, -- that seems like a p dece endorsement of the parser's ability jp×g🗯️ 12:35, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

btw the f'ups in 2019, 2020 where it futzes up author links seems like a classique case of it not doing interwiki links very well -- hrrmery jp×g🗯️ 12:53, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
except for this, bizarre... i am p sure what happened was there was a "bold tag" with the signpost apostrophe s and this made the parser choke and die lol. when i fixed it and ran again it worked fine.... jp×g🗯️ 12:54, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
thats really weird tho bc this diff shows interwiki links working fine on my little goofy test thing at 7... jp×g🗯️ 12:57, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
By JPxG, JPyG, JPzG, JPaG, JPbG, and JPcG
which is
By JPxG, JPyG, JPzG, JPaG, JPbG, and JPcG
renders as
authors = {"JPxG", "JPyG", "JPzG", "JPaG", "none", "JPcG"},
so we're missing JPbG jp×g🗯️ 12:58, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

oh, jeez louise, it's Mangoe, of course it doesn't work. wtf. that should just not be in a byline. come on. jp×g🗯️ 12:59, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

should be noted that the mwparserfromhell, since it uses the revisions endpoint rather than html, allows me to get around 50 articles per request, meaning that metadata parsing goes almost literally fifty times as fast... sick. jp×g🗯️ 12:47, 15 December 2023 (UTC)

Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays
Hello, I wanted to be the first to wish you the best during the holidays. The project needs you to clone yourself. You have always been a beacon in the darkness. I hope we can count on your reasoned approach to administration for many years. Lightburst (talk) 15:41, 16 December 2023 (UTC)

Sarah R. Nagy / Sarah Nagy

Hello. I am the author of the Sarah R. Nagy page that you deleted (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Log&logid=156628336). I completely understand your reasons. I should have submitted the page through AFC because I have a conflict of interest; I am an inexperienced Wikipedia editor and this is my mistake. However, I believe this page should be given a chance to be approved by an administrator. As you noticed, there was a page Sarah Nagy that was once taken down and protected as spam. However, that page was created and taken down in 2008, fifteen years ago. Sarah Nagy is now a female founder working in AI who has been featured in the New York Times and TechCrunch. I believe that in 2008 she was a teenager messing around with Wikipedia as teenagers do. The new article about Sarah was well-cited and informative. I don't know what the original article looked like, but information about Sarah Nagy is relevant today and looks very different than it did in 2008. I appreciate you taking the time to consider this. Thank you. Paigerank (talk) 20:20, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Request

Hello, would you mind just removing (not revdelling) the blank file revision at File:Ignatyevo.jpg? The file seems to have gone missing (I replaced it with the thumbnail, see this) and I can't move it to Commons without getting rid of the old revision. Cheers, — MATRIX!
